About

Radio Stall is a co-created community audio and public art installation, part dream part ethnography, operating in and for UK market life and culture, 

Our co-created community audio and installation project, began operating from a stall in the Birmingham Rag Market. The co-led radio station was set up to forge alliances with traders, artists and the public to preserve market culture in the city, in light of an ongoing regeneration project which threatens to close and demolish the current market site within the next five years, to be built again, anew.  


We see the market as an infinitely inspiring place through its vast array of sensory contradictions, diverse communities, deep conversations, genuine life line for many as the potential for fantastical societal change. Referencing the market place as the original meeting place for exchanging ideas RE ROY x

With each change in location we Invite artists, local traders, the public, DJs, musicians to share memories, conversations, dreams, archives, music, requests for change, soundscapes to reflect on and shape our immediate environment.
